Basically what a missile that just hit Ukraine is designed for is to place multiple nukes somewhere in another country. However, the one that hit Ukraine just hit with multiple mini-missiles that hit UKraine. So, when you see many flashes in the dark each one of these is one of the mini-missiles carried by one MIRV Missile all hitting Ukraine at the same time. Also, Russia says the U.S. and Europe don't have any present anti-missile system that is capable of bringing one of these things down before it impacts somewhere on earth. This likely is because a missile of this kind goes straight up and then straight down from Space very quickly. It doesn't move across the sky like most missiles just straight up and then a space arc and then straight down very quickly before the "Iron dome" or other anti-missile systems could target it. It's just too quick to stop which is why both U.S. and Russia have these for placing nukes many places at once from one missile. That's what they are designed for. We have these too here in the U.S. loaded with Nukes.
