So, it is not a good time to be living in or visiting a flood plain (especially if there are any rain clouds in the sky within 50 to 100 miles of you upriver of your location at that moment.
I think we are at about 1% of how bad it's going to get in flood plains all over the world for this century.
Could Civilization on earth basically end because of floods?
I think if people don't adapt enough floods could end civilization sort of like Noah's ark.
However, just like I learned from my father's death that I should go to doctors more and Just like I learned from my aunt's death from a melanoma that I should go to a dermatologist in 1995 and thereafter I have so far lived to age 77.
So, the people that can adapt to all the changes and live above the elevations of flood plains or move to where there are not flood plains are the ones who will survive the floods the most.
I suppose you could build a tower or a 2nd or 3rd story where you live to escape to if the first floor of your house is underwater. However, what if the flood encompasses your upper floors?
If the air when it is warmer can carry 5 times as much moisture (rain) then are you prepared for this all over the world when this actually happens?
Unless you ask yourself useful questions you and your family might not survive the next flood where you live.
If you want your family to survive it's important to be realistic before they are gone like the families of so many in Texas right now.
If you think about this usefully the over 110 people who have died and the 160 plus still missing all have family and friends all over the world and all these people are hurting in various ways right now.
So, if you can stay alive (anyway that you can) you help your relatives not to have to deal with trying to find your body impaled on a limb or a fence later under debris. This is what the relatives and friends are finding now.
Thinking this way I call: "Reality Therapy" and if you are real before things happen you might stay alive when things go wrong like in Texas the last week or so.
