But, you sort of have to be gentle with yourself as if you were still a 2 year old learning how to be alive and to survive.
Writing for me is re-parenting yourself so you can better survive your life at present.
Being in the present is the most important thing because if you are not here now then where are you?
If you are not here now then you are not really here are you?
Often I will walk outside in my back yard on our deck and sit in one of the rain proof chairs there or at a glass table and have breakfast there.
I do this just to make myself realize that I am awake and here in the present. I can look at the pine and oak trees in my back yard. I can listen to the birds sing or watch a hummingbird drink from flowers there like our roses and other flowers. I can watch the clouds go by if there are any.
I find this brings me right into the moment and out of my dreams of the night before.
So, to just find a way to be in the present for a moment at the start of a day can be the difference between life and death for you or anyone.
So, writing can be a search for wholeness and a search for healing and this is what writing is mostly for me: a search for healing and for good things in life and for a way to solve our problems one by one so that our lives are good enough that we want to continue to stay alive another day.
This is what writing is for me.
