My wife's intelligence reminds me a lot of my father

It's one of the reasons why we get along so well because after my father made friends with me about age 10. (Because from his era) this wasn't done before that. So, after age 10 I was my father's best friend most of the time and I was okay with that even though I had many friends in Church and in public school too. However, as you grow older it's harder to make really good friends for a lot of reasons. Locality where you are working, relationships with significant others, children etc. etc. etc.

I always thought trying to be friends with other couples was too complicated for me for example, but maybe this is just me. However, I have managed this more as time has gone on into my 50s and beyond. We have a couple of friends (the guy and I climbed mountains like Mt. Shasta together starting in 1970 and in 1969 we also climbed the wire up to the top of half Dome in Yosemite. We also went to Nepal together in 1986. He had been playing music professionally in Switzerland where his mother was from and decided to meet me in kathmandu, Nepal by flying through Pakistan on his way to Kathmandu Nepal where he climbed some peaks. I was with my family of 5 so taking risks like that wasn't my choice as I wanted to stay alive for my family then and now. But, at this time he was still single and was very happy to be in Kathmandu, Nepal and went back there at least 10 times after this visit in 1986 until now. I was raising my children and getting them through High School and College so I never got back to Kathmandu, or India or Bodhgaya or Dharamshala again after that first trip from December of 1985 to about April of 1986 then with my family.

However, it's true my wife and I are friends partly because she is very meticulous and orderly like my father was and both valedictorians of their high school Classes and so very competitive in this way.

However, I'm not like this at all. I tend to be non-competitive with people. IF anything I always win in whatever I do and I'm not usually a team player. So, the only one I compete with is myself.

I"m a natural born entrepreneur like all the men in my Dad's family were and are too.

My father, Grandfather, Uncle and Cousin and I have all owned our own businesses. This is what we are good at and we are all "Captains of our own ships and Masters of our own Destiny" too.

By God's Grace
