Safe in Mt. Shasta

The weather driving north was about 83 to 91 degrees most of the way especially from Stockton and Sacramento north up to Redding. So, from Sacramento on it was about 91 degrees pretty consistently. It is still green everywhere and Shasta Lake and Dam is the highest I have seen it in several years (of course I usually am not necessarily up here this time of year either but often I come for the snow and I have been snowed into our hotel room with no power so that was interesting too in 2 feet of snow or more outside. Luckily I had my big 4 wheel drive Tundra with High Ground clearance that is okay in pretty deep snow whether it is plowed or not.

One of the most pleasant experiences driving north was smelling the orange blossoms from Orange Trees over one section of Interstate 5 especially. I don't remember smelling Orange blossoms which are very sweet smelling for some time now. They likely only smell like this for a few weeks during the year. Also, it was green everywhere too and the Canal from Northern California to Southern California was full to the brim too heading south to the 25 million people from about Santa Barbara to San Diego.

So, it was a good trip heading north and it's good to be in Mt. Shasta again. I miss it when I'm not here because I lived her and owned property during the 1980s and built an A-Frame with my wife and family and my Dad then. So, many good and amazing memories here over the years.

By God's Grace
