This time reminds me most of the Arab Oil Embargo of the 1970s.
Until the 1970s and the Arab Oil embargo from about 1950 to 1970 was likely the best buying power for those under 50% level of American Income. So, the poor and middle Class fared the best during these times economically, generally speaking.
Since then it is harder and harder to live to make a living and often people work 3 or more jobs 7 days a week just to get by and feed their kids and have a place to live whether they have a car or not nationwide.
So, trying to figure out a way economically to survive all this for many people is a lot.
I suppose you could buy a bicycle or electric bicycle to reduce expenses the way a lot of college students do too.
In 1980 I moved to Mt. Shasta because of the recessions and 10% unemployment at that time and bought property 2 1/2 acres and built an A-Frame house at 4000 feet on Mt. Shasta without electricity (OR solar at that time because it was just too expensive compared to now). However, we did have a stream going through our property which helped a lot even though we chose not to drink from this stream but we did bathe and wash dishes from water from the stream going through our property. The property already had a Septic tank on it when we bought it so that was nice.
However, by paying cash for the land (land was very inexpensive now there but has become much more expensive because Solar Array costs have gone down enough for everyone to have solar Arrays there now.
But, between 1980 and 1985 when we returned to the San Francisco Bay area and bought another business we were able to save around 60,000 to 70,000 dollars in rent. Why?
Because we paid cash for the land and then we didn't have electricity or phone lines we had to pay for then. Basically, Food and Gas for our vehicles and kerosene for Aladdin Lamps and candles for candle lanterns was what we had to pay in addition to Property taxes was what we had to pay to live there for 5 years.
IT's true in the winter time we had to deal with up to 7 feet of snow at a time but we all had skis and then we would bring in food on a bobsled towed by us Skiing to our A-Frame.
However, this worked well for us as we were home schooling our children then because we were too far away from any schools to do anything else then. However, the children prospered and learned many amazing things about themselves and the world and all became self starters and all eventually went to college and all got College degrees and have been successful in their lives ( all three of them).
So, this worked for us all from 1980 to 1985 when we returned to the SF bay area and bought another business. I think we rented a house in 1990 to 1992 but that was the last time we lived in Mt. Shasta and we sold the land and house in 1989 after returning from Maui where we lived in 1989 and 1990.
So, there are many ways to survive times like this and you just have to get pretty creative to survive now too.
For me, I didn't want to ever have to have a mortgage on a house I owned which I succeeded in not doing throughout the 1980s. However, Business loans for running businesses is another thing.
But, the good thing is all our debts we paid off a couple of years ago when we realized Trump might become president again because it was obvious he was really going to mess things up economically and cause a lot of starvation worldwide like he has if he got in again.
People are now suffering worldwide because of Trump and as long as he is in office they will continue to suffer and die from what he is doing unfortunately.
However, we positioned ourselves to survive Trump economically and if you are smart you will too if you haven't already.
Otherwise, wherever you are on earth you might not Survive Trump the way things are now.
So, wherever you are try to figure out how you are going to survive him and his insanity!
By God's Grace
