The only really new thing is U.S. "Suicide Drones" used for the first time in battle in Iran. I'm thinking they are likely flown by remote pilots into their targets (which would make sense) because we have had that kind of technology for a long time. And likely the pilot flown Drones would be much less expensive to build and to fly than missiles, especially Cruise missiles. So, I can see how this could be useful for the U.S. to use "Suicide Drones" flown by remote pilots somewhere else on earth through satellites.
However, it is also troubling on many different levels that ICE is using Lasers to shoot down Border patrol Drones. Why would ICE need Lasers? What do they want to do shoot foreign nationals in the U.S. with Lasers now?
