Weight guidelines for no-mesh hernia repair

I found out about Shouldice Hernia repair using hair thin stainless steel wire that stays in your body permanently and is used by places like Shouldice Hospital in Toronto that might be the best place on earth to have this done because people come from all over the world to have this kind of hernia surgery there so they don't have to have mesh Screening in place that sometimes moves into muscles or organs over time which can be a little to extremely problematic for people (over time).

Most practitioners of non-mesh hernia repair have strict weight limits for patient eligibility for a tissue repair for groin hernias. Generally speaking, you must not be overweight and you must have a regular BMI. In researching this matter, I came across a surgeon who used to work at Shouldice and now works at Stony Brook in NY, where these weight limits are discussed in a blogpost.

I do not know if this data is universally applicable or unique to Shouldice or that specific practitioner, but it may be helpful information.

I hope it’s OK to replicate this data here, it will not paste in a table format but you should be able to see the height and corresponding maximum weight for men and women of different body frame sizes. The source of the data is here if you wish to see it in table format: https://medicine.stonybrookmedicine.edu/surgery/blog/faqs-about-the-shouldice-hernia-repair
