I was thinking more about the road rage article of the 44 year old woman being shot by a 19 year old boy she had given money to and was trying to help. Of course this is an unusual case because most road rage is from people you don't know having some sort of problem.
I would be more concerned about road rage in places like Las Vegas, Los Angeles to San Diego and San Francisco or Sacramento than most other places.
For example, just in East L.A. you have at least 85,000 to 95,000 gang members. So, even if it is someone wealthy doing cocaine or drunk or on drugs, the best way to deal with people in the more city areas of the state is to 1st be a defensive driver.
How do I keep from getting a tire iron thrown through my front window or from getting shot?
1. If someone pulls up behind you and tailgates you, you just pull over and stop if you have to or change lanes. You don't give them the finger or pull a gun and get one or more people killed.
So, the main way you avoid road rage is you don't do anything to incite them. If someone is driving drugged or crazy it is pretty obvious. So, you just get out of the way politely as soon as possible.
This way you don't die, your passengers don't die and innocent bystanders don't die from flying lead.
Most of the shooting deaths in gang areas of the state don't get reported much in the news anyway because there are so many of them. So, whether it is a gang member high on drugs or whether it is a punk kid out for a joy ride or a rich person on cocaine or something else, you just stay out of the way and stay safe along with your family.
However, my scariest single moment on the road was not road rage but on a freeway when I was driving to visit my cousin. This was likely between Pomona and Orange California when I looked in my rear view mirror and saw many motorcycles and cars approaching on the freeway behind me at about 100 to 120 mph. In order to not die or have my family killed I pulled towards the emergency lane in the center of the freeway at about 70 plus miles per hour the majority of traffic was traveling at. But, one of the motorcycles trying to pass me on the left almost was almost caught between the center fence and my car by doing this. However, he slowed down and then I gave him enough room to get by.
So, road rage is not the scariest thing you might see in California. This was about 20 to 25 fast cars and motorcycles riding through heavy traffic anywhere they could fit and scaring the hell out of everyone.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
