I cannot really vouch for California being exactly like this anymore. However, when I was growing up we moved to San Diego Area to Vista First on the coast. I was about 4 years old then and I started Kindergarten in Vista, California. I even started Kindergarten with my first time in a public school there in Vista in 1953 when I was 5 years old.
I didn't like school because they made us take naps and I didn't take naps since I was 2 or 3 years old so they made you lie down on the hard cold floor on your Towel that you brought from home. This I didn't like even though often teachers were entertaining to watch trying to teach us something almost as much as watching Superman with Steve Reeves on Television was when we moved pretty soon to El Cajon where I met my next door neighbor.
But, i think maybe the most important thing about California is especially along the coast of Califronia from San Diego to the Oregon Border people are very very very experimental.
Now what is the most strange thing about Californians is people if they were as experimental as Californians were around the world they might die a lot more. But, somehow Californians are an interesting breed of people who tend to survive almost anything in their lives unlike other people around the world especially here in the U.S.
So, it's this experimental Survivability that is the most interesting to me regarding Californians where they tend to be creative in Amazing ways (especially from San Diego to the Oregon border and are unlike any other group of people on earth in this respect.
So, it's one reason why I stayed in California as an adult because I like this creative Atmosphere where almost anything good can and will happen on any given day.
