Donald Trump Demands Coat From Heckler, Rally-Goers to Take 'Loyalty Oath'
NY Daily News
Donald Trump has left his critics out in the cold.
After hecklers repeatedly interrupted the GOP presidential candidate during a Thursday night rally in Vermont, Trump demanded guards kick out the protesters — and demanded that security staffers steal one of their jackets.
“Keep his coat! Confiscate his coat! You know it's about 10 degrees below zero outside,” the boisterous billionaire barked from the stage. “You can keep his coat. Tell him we'll send it to him in a couple of weeks.”
It’s unclear if security followed Trump’s frosty demand.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump asked security guards to steal a protester's coat during a Burlington, Vt., rally Thursday night.

The frequent interruptions from vocal dissidents came despite Trump’s efforts to keep the crowd critic-free. Ticket-holding rally-goers were asked if they planned to vote for Trump before they were let inside the 1,400-seat Flynn Center for the Performing Arts.
Those who said they didn't were promptly escorted out of the building.
The "loyalty oath" screening helped whittle down the monstrous lines of ticketholders, since the Trump campaign released thousands of more tickets than the venue had seats.

“We have more than 20,000 people that showed up for 1,400 spots,” Trump said in a statement. “I'm taking care of my people, not people who don't want to vote for me or are undecided. They are loyal to me and I am loyal to them.”
Still, the rally in liberal Burlington was peppered with protests from anti-Trump critics — and loyalists for one of Trump’s Democratic rivals, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.
At first, Trump seemed to embrace the disruptions, taking them as a badge of honor.

Protesters are escorted away from the Trump rally in the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts in Burlington Thursday.

But as the disruptions continued, Trump's patience appeared to wear thin. He blamed security guards for not responding more forcefully.
“This is why we're losing control of our country. This is why. We lose control of our country 'cause everybody's afraid to do anything,” he said. “They're afraid to lose their jobs.”
Trump also spoke at length about Sanders, criticizing the way he responded to Black Lives Matter protesters at an event in August and accusing him of wanting to raise taxes to 90%..

The rivalry continued even as the rally-goers — Trump fans and Sanders supporters alike — filed out of the theater. The Republican's backers held up Trump posters as they streamed out, while protesters shouted “Bernie! Bernie!”
