Fear of the Unknown

Death, because I understand it has never been my fear because my experience for a very long time now (about 40 or more years) is that Life and Death are the same for me and for everyone. What do I mean by that? Basically, to me it is my experience that (maybe one way to put this is that) we are not our bodies. We live in our bodies but that is not ultimately who we are. And who we really are does not even live ordinarily in time and space. So, that means to me that we must come from what scientists call "Dark Matter"(by the way "Dark Matter" is a really stupid name for something that is actually invisible to the naked eye) which does not reside in our time and space because it is neither matter nor antimatter but is likely both and possibly something more. So, since our souls don't even really reside in Time and Space whether we are in a body or not is basically irrelevant to a soul. That doesn't mean a soul dipped in forgetfulness because of previous horrors or other reasons it has experienced though infinite time and space, (because a soul does not naturally reside in time and space). Because, living physical lives is much like people watching and playing video games in one sense. So, we believe these physical video games are real because our bodies experience them this way unless we remember who we really are. And then we can have peace ongoing because we remember who we really are.

One of the consequences of knowing who you really are makes suicide unacceptable in most situations, especially when falling in love and having one's heart broken is the cause of the suicidal attempt. Sometimes, thought it might make sense if there is extreme pain and there is no way to relieve this pain. So, it depends upon a whole lot of factors and belief systems that people tend to have about what Life actually is at any given moment.

So, if the unknown is fearful to you then you will be afraid of death in most cases. Unless you are young and just feel immortal like many young men do between about ages 12 to 25. But eventually even they start to get physically injured enough to start being afraid.

The best person to train as a pilot in World War I was a 17 year old young man and most of them died because they had "more balls than brains".
