Anything is Possible

Realizing this is the truth is likely going to do one of two things to people. One they will be amazed that literally anything is potentially possible or they will be scared out of their minds. But, embracing the truth about life can be very freeing.

For me, I choose to be in a constant state of wonder and amusement about life. I choose a playful point of view whenever possible. I have always found this is the best way to approach life as a serious game. Yes. It's a game but it is a serious game we all play with God and Life.

I have found that if you get too serious about the "Game of Life" you won't live very long. And if you don't take it seriously enough, also you don't live very long either. (By the way I've seen this in action in everyone's lives around me 65 years now in everyday life.)

So, going through life amazed and in wonder about what can actually happen has always seemed a better way to go through life than to be scared out of your mind every moment.

There is a saying regarding doctors that is also a joke: "Doctor, it hurts when I do this!" The Doctor said, "Don't do that then!"

This is sort of like all aspects of life. If you don't like the results of people or areas you now live in go somewhere else and see if that suits you better. Once you find places you like better maybe then you will have an attitude like mine which is "Life is amazing!" I'm always surprised when people don't do anything or go anywhere in their lives. I remember a man coming from I think it was Nepal and he had pictures of his family's house. We asked him, "How long has your family lived there?" His answer sort of astounded me as an American, "We have lived their since beginningless time". Which means in real terms that none of his relatives that he knew of in his line ever lived anywhere else.

This was pretty unbelievable to me as an American but as I have traveled around the world there are millions and potentially billions of people like this that never go anywhere away from where they were born.

My son was in public school when he was 17 in High School in Mt. Shasta California and the teacher said to the class, "95% of you will live here in Mt. Shasta and never move from here ever." This so upset my son that he dropped out of High School on a student program then through the state and decided to finish his high school degree through a local community college. But, staying any one place would never be his problem because I have been on the move (except since 1995) from when I was born in 1948 until 1995. I counted at one point that I had moved 50 times until 1995 and 5 of these moves were before I was 5 years old. Most of the time it was just moving to other houses or apartments in the same city or area. But in my life I have lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Seattle, where I was born, San Diego where I went at age 4, 3 different locations in Los Angeles County, Mt. Shasta, California, Hilo, Hawaii as well as Hana, Maui and Paia, Maui Hawaii as well as several coastal locations in Northern California within a couple hours drive of San Francisco.

So, when someone says to me, 'We have lived there since beginningless time" my ears perk up and I realize I am talking to someone very different psychologically from myself.

So, anything is possible especially when you create it yourself. So, be adventurous, have fun but also be careful!
