What can I eat if I'm allergic to Gluten?

Let's think about this for a moment. I can't eat anything with wheat, barley or oats in it if I want to feel good. Also, 40% of people on earth have this allergy to a greater or lesser degree too. So, if there are 7 billion people 2.8 billion of them are allergic to gluten. This is a very big market for people to address in businesses around the world including people who have restaurants. So, even if the new restaurants aren't gluten free, more and more you will have some gluten free dishes at every new restaurant because of this growing awareness.

An easy way if you can afford to eat out is to think like this: a Japanese diet doesn't have gluten in it because gluten grains: wheat, oats, and barley are more found in cultures that sprang originally out of the fertile Crescent in the Middle East and the Mediterranean areas. Since a Japanese diet is mostly based upon rice, seaweed and fish and fruits and vegetables grown in Japan, this is a natural gluten free diet.

Also, my wife brought home from Whole Foods Market many products that are totally gluten free. As I'm writing this I just had gluten free bread toasted with butter and jam and am now snacking on Glutino brand (Gluten Free) Vanilla Milk Chocolate coated wafer cookies that I am trying for the very first time.

One recommendation from my 24 year old daughter though is that if you make gluten free pasta you should only make enough for eating at that time without leftovers because it doesn't have the gluten in it to stick it all together for later. So, you should eat it right then and not make extra.

However, like I said I feel incredibly better after only a couple of days on my new diet. So, I'm not worried about giving up anything at present. I'm incredibly happy to feel 10 or 20 years younger. That's enough for me right now!

Also, look for Gluten Free Bread at Whole Foods Market or other locations. This particular one says Soy and Nut and Dairy free too if you need these not to be in whatever you buy. They make it with Brown rice flour and Tapioca starch and other stuff.

Also, at Whole Foods Market they carry Amy's Pizza's which makes Gluten free pizzas also in addition to their healthy other varieties.
