Don't Care What other people Think?

I know this is a paradox we all deal with all of our lives and in different situations growing up one must take often very different stands on this. But here is the general rule I have always tried to follow which I find is a very Western or Independent thinking you will often see in the United States which is:
"If something isn't directly benefiting me and my family why do it?"



This gives you an idea of just how independent the thought can be in the U.S. So, basically anything anyone wants that doesn't fall into this category often just doesn't get done at all.

However, when you have enough or more than enough then this might start to change a little or a lot and this is where people start to get into trouble when they start giving.

It is important only to give what you feel in your heart in any given day. Because otherwise later you will or might regret it. There are exceptions to this. For example, someone might mug you in one way or another and sometimes giving someone $20 or so just to make sure they don't kill or harm you or your family isn't a bad idea at times.

But, generally speaking you will be much better off the less you care what other people think about anything you think, say, or do.

I come on my father's side from pioneer stock that came over in the 1720s from Switzerland, then Germany and then England and even have a Great Grandfather who was a Captain in the Civil War on the Northern Side from Kansas. So, the things I learned from this heritage is "Prepare for the worst and hope for the best" (pioneer motto) and help people whenever you can. But, don't worry much about what anyone might think about you because it doesn't matter unless they want to harm or kill you.

So, "Don't care what people think?" Sometimes, your physical and psychological survival might depend upon not caring what people around you think. And then, other times you might save the world by caring. It takes some time to grow up so you feel like you are doing it right most of the time.
Nobody is right all the time.
