Even though climate change is a disaster in the making for most of humanity, still as Descartes, the French philosopher once said, "There is nothing so bad that no good may come of it."
So, despite the disaster it is for many many people on earth there also will be entrepreneurs who will benefit from these changes for a time. For example, as life becomes more and more unbearable in the Equator regions and other regions around the world from flooding, droughts, winds above 100 mph etc. ,increased diseases into newer now hotter areas etc., entrepreneurs will open up new areas to the north and the south, real estate promoters will benefit from selling previously unsellable land further north and further south towards the South Pole and the North Pole. The ice covered areas of the ocean eventually won't have any ice most or all of the year and so ocean travel will be feasible hauling large loads throughout the arctic and nearer the South Pole as well. Wealthier people will begin to buy cooler places to live through the increasingly hot summers in the arctic regions while people nearer the equator will move underground to be cooler as temperatures go up. So, builders of underground homes likely will prosper too even in equatorial regions. People will move further north and further south, will build both underground to escape the heat but also higher up off the ground to escape the flooding worldwide. A response to the extremes we see even in Tornado Alley in the U.S. when flooding and the biggest tornado ever recorded hit near Oklahoma city recently. People didn't want to drown in their storm shelters so they drove away from the storms in their cars. The cars were the safest place not to drown or not be thrown into the sky only to come down who knows where. This kind of response to all disasters will be seen worldwide as the climate changes become more and more extreme in all directions. The wealthier people will move away from disasters and the poorer people will tend to die in these unpredictable disasters more and more. So, there will be extreme financial opportunities and extreme amounts of injuries and deaths worldwide like never before seen on earth in anything but wars like World War I and II.
Begin Note:
I looked for it but couldn't find it to my satisfaction but I believe Descartes full quote was:
"There is nothing so bad that no good may come of it and nothing so good that no bad may come of it."
When I first heard this philosophical statement it sort of saved me. Before this I lived more with absolutes because my parents thought more in creational absolutes. So, seeing life in a more pragmatic way really helped me to cope with life as it is rather than how it often was represented to me by people in my family.
Ideals are nice in some situations but they might not help you survive real life. Real life is almost never kind so if you want to stay alive being pragmatic is really important.end note.
begin 2nd note: Another thing that has been this way in many areas of the world where it gets very hot: People turn the night into the day because it is cooler during the night than the day. So, sometimes people work and play at night and just sleep during the day instead in places where it is very hot around the world and it has been this way for centuries already. This will move both north and south around the globe as it gets hotter in further northern and southern Climates.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
