The Cool War

It's not the Cold War Again because it isn't based upon Detente. Rather it is based more upon doublespeak and public relations more than anything else worldwide. The most physical example of "The Cool War" is what is happening in Syria. Their suffering is real. Most of "The Cool War" is not Syria though. Most of it is in Cyber Warfare around the world between China and the U.S. And between Russia and the U.S. allied with Europe. And of course don't forget Iran against the U.S. allied with Europe. I would say that Russia is allied with Iran but I don't know if I'm comfortable with
saying that anymore because I'm not totally sure of Russian motivations in regard to Iran.

So, since the Cold War is settled and as far as nuclear weapons are concerned Russia, the U.S., and China are all pretending everything is okay. But everyone knows it is not. Competition is still going on just not in the nuclear weapons arena directly. The Cold War ended because the Soviet Union imploded and China became capitalistic. It's almost that simple. But, population explosions around the world and Global warming as a result have brought about "The Cool War" which is actually a war over natural resources and media worldwide. So, the war now is more about perceptions than anything else.

For example, China and Russia have just as much to lose (maybe more) in the long run from Snowdens and Assanges and Wikileaks than the U.S. does. Soon there will be 10s and then 20 years from now there maybe 50 Snowdens and Assanges seeking asylum with secrets made public about all nations on earth. This is very likely. However, it is also likely that anybody like Assange or Snowden from China or Russia will be killed BEFORE anything about them becomes public. Because that is the way things are done over there. So, mostly the Snowdens and Assanges will be releasing information about the U.S. and Europe.

So, there is always the possibility that Snowden is actually sent by the NSA to do exactly what he is doing, possibly to make people in the U.S. aware that such a war is going on and for Americans and Europeans and others to "take Cover" and to protect themselves anyway they can because this is not a formal war like World War II or even a war like Viet Nam or the Korean War. This is a war all sides mostly just pretend isn't happening at all except for places like Syria and places like that. But you and I know from studying the news around the world that it is actually going on even though it likely won't be reported directly in any U.S. news except for some blurbs about cyberwarfare and arming Syrian Rebels by the U.S. and Europe.
