If California sinks too much it could lose the ability to store groundwater

The ground in many places is collapsing at a rate of over 2 inches per month now. This space that once contained water is collapsing and won't be able to take in new water. This is a concern of Hydrologists throughout California. However, California isn't the most overstressed aquifer, The Saudi Arabia-Yemen aquifer is in the most trouble, then the India Pakistan one is the next most stressed.
