The Republican party should actually be 3 or 4 different parties because all the factions are at war with each other.
The main reason for this is there are not enough WASP white men and women alive now (white anglo saxon protestant) to ever elect a president again. The demographics are against the Republican part from ever electing a President ever again. And less and less white babies are being born in the U.S. so less will grow up to be Republicans. And even most young people raised as Republicans are Democrats until they are 35 to 40 years old and many even then don't become Republicans even if they become financially successful. So, there just aren't going to be enough Republicans to ever elect a President again.
And they are really really angry about this. So, it is fracturing the Republican party into Tea Party, Conservatives, Moderates etc. But, it still won't elect a Republican President again. It's only making things much worse for them in regard to ever electing a president ever again.
So, you see Republicans moving a lot towards "Might makes Right" which is one reason Trump likes Putin.
But for most people on earth Putin is likely the scariest person on earth presently.
