It is finding peace with living (and dying)
because you likely are going to do both at some point
It is developing compassion for yourself and all beings
Because without compassion your life here on earth will be hell
Since I don't believe in Hell why should I make my life like that?
So, the only hell is not being enlightened in the end
My experience of moving towards enlightenment is that it is all in how you perceive things
The Buddhists have a way of saying it I like
"You are already enlightened you just have to realize and accept it"
So, it really is just sort of looking at life as a grown up without losing your childlike qualities
of wonder and of being amazed by a hummingbird, a dragonfly of a dolphin
Have you ever watched a dragonfly come out from under a river or a lake, come out of it's shell
and unfurl it's wings?
I would say that is a very enlightening experience
Did that dragonfly know before it became one that it wouldn't spend the rest of it's life
just breathing water?
Did it know that it would one day come up onto a rock or piece of wood or lake grass and drop it's cover and unfurl it's wings and fly away and mate?
Did you know that enlightenment can be like unfurling your wings and flying away to wherever you
want to go to?
And did you know that enlightenment is realizing you are already there?
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
