How do you reduce Global Warming technologically?

One way is an idea I saw in the book "Ringworld". Ringworld is a place like if you built something like a never ending ribbon circling the sun and then you built up the walls on the sides to hold in water and air and then you spun that ribbon around the sun or kept it stationary from then on as it followed the sun for aeons through space.

However, one of the ideas might work for global warming which was how they created night and day on such a ribbon world. The built long sheets of metal or maybe mylar sheets in squares that spun above the ribbon world to create the illusion of night and day.

If we did something like this is space slowly moving this also could reduce the sunlight hitting the earth. You could possibly leave something like this in   orbit which could reduce sunlight hitting various places on earth during the day thereby reducing the sunlight actually hitting earth.

Something like this economically would be feasible IF enough people at the United Nations could agree upon doing something like this.

For example, mylar fields the size of football fields in Space on the Day side of the planet would be feasible in   orbits so the planet would spin under these sections so they wouldn't be over any one area all the time. By reducing the general sunlight hitting the earth during days, global warming could be controlled or even defeated in this manner over time.

However, agreement and will would have to be in place because it is feasible. In the same way we now unfurl Solar Arrays in Space we also could unfurl mylar sheets the size of football fields to block the sun.

I started to think about the logistical problems of doing this. First, even a geosynchronous orbit wouldn't work because it would only stop sunlight at one point on earth and that point likely would be one city. But, the problem with this is it would also block out stars at night above that section of city too.

Another way would be to have this mylar football field in space move and orbit the earth but then it also sort of becomes somewhat of an obstacle to see stars through at night as it spins and for space craft that want to leave earth's orbit.

But, like I said, "Where there's a will there's a way."

Another unfortunate thought is: "Nations expect the poor to die in global warming as a form of population control, especially the biggest most developed nations."

Since populations cannot be reduced through wars now because of nuclear weapons it might be thought that through Global Warming we won't go extinct through overpopulation.

However, this is insane like war because eventually the whole human race goes extinct in this process because eventually global warming kills all human life on earth.

Also, if you have ever looked at the size of the shadow a jet plane leaves on the ground it is exponentially larger than the size of the plane. The further up such a football field size of mylar would be the larger shadow footprint it would leave on the ground to reduce global warming.

Obviously you would have to have many many of these orbitting football field sized mylar arrays orbiting earth to reduce global warming.

But, as you can see it would be feasible to do this if we were willing to put up with the consequences of doing this like sometimes not seeing the stars or moon for a moment or two or in the case of cities wanting shade all the time not seeing stars or sun above that city year around if that worked for them to reduce solar heat hitting earth at that point.

However, moving football field sized mylar sheets in space to block the sun's heat seems to be the best solution for right now to me to prevent the extinction of all humans on earth eventually from global warming sometime in the next 500 to 1000 years.

You could also turn this into a money making idea by making this mylar array instead a solar array to catch the sun's rays and then transmit somehow the power generated back to earth from this solar array also blocking the sun to reduce heat on water, land and air.

IN this way the array by generating electricity also pays for itself over time just like putting solar arrays over time on your roof pay for your solar cells if you go off the grid completely.

If you have ever read "Lights Out" by Ted Koppel then you might see the advantages of being completely off the grid (if there is enough sun where you live).
