One of the joys of living on the ocean in California is the sea breeze which is prevailing from west to east. So, what this means in real terms is if you don't live too near a big city with smog, there is never smog unless there is a strange wind condition and a fire at the same time. So, everywhere from California to up into Canada and up into Alaska it can be like this with really clear and pure air off the ocean because there is no civilization much for 5000 miles and the air has usually been cleaned by rain storms coming across the Pacific Ocean. So, the Western Coast of the U.S. and Canada and Alaska as well as places like Hawaii, Fiji, Tahiti and other Pacific islands out in the center of the ocean have some of the clearest and purest air left on earth which is one reason a lot of people like to live on the western coast of the U.S.
Also, the weather tends to be nicer year around than most other places too. For example all along the California coast we seldom see Freezing temperatures more than about once a year and less than that in Southern California. A snow event in Los Angeles is usually once every 10 to 20 years at most when I lived there. However, I did see one or two from 1954 in Tujunga and in the late 1950s in Glendale while I was growing up there.
But, where I live now we only get hail about once or twice a year. But, I've seen hail about 5 to 10 inches deep on my redwood deck during some winters.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
