Nothing really explained to me the problem Turkey is having with Russia until I looked at this graph regarding Turkish people around the world: From Wikipedia

If you look at the 100,000 to 200,000 people in Syria you might understand better why Turkey shot the Russian Bomber down. Because Russia is killing Turkish civilians in Syria right now.
