At around 6 am this morning my wife and I woke up to what sounded like a large tree coming down. I turned lights on in the back yard to see if a tree had come down in our yard. Recently a tree had come down in our neighbor's yard but hadn't hit a house and I think they were on vacation so it wasn't a serious problem. Just a large tree had fallen in their back yard. Heavy storms that bring flooding rain and winds often bring trees down in the area where I live so this is common from December to about March or April near the ocean. Sometimes we get 100 mile an hour winds off the ocean because there are no mountains on the ocean to stop the wind or slow it down so the forest slows the winds down instead and trees come down often from it. Winds aren't that high right now but there are some pretty good gusts because you can sometimes hear the trees whine as the wind blows through them. Checked my whole house and also daughter's room and so far everything is okay here.
I looked on the weather radar and rain is coming down as far south as the San Diego area now but the heaviest of it is in the SF Bay Area down to about Bakersfield though I could see the Olympic Rain forest up near Seattle is really getting nailed too. So, this storm stretches from San Diego all the way up to the Seattle area and possibly into Canada at this point and moving where I am.
I can hear the storm waves even inside my house 1 mile from the ocean so I know the surf is really intense right now too.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
