What white Ski Wax?

I had walked up to the Saddle there at Bunny Flats (or Flat) (I like saying Flats better even though it is Bunny Flat).

So, what I noticed was my mountaineering skis were sticking (which only helped me climb the hill with skis on. (which was good).

However, then I realized they were going to continue to stick (which usually means snow is sticking to the ski so you cannot slide down a hill at all then.

So then, my friend said lift up your ski and I'll put some wax on it. I did this but then he dropped the white ski wax into the snow. I watched him look for it then by combing his fingers through the snow to no avail.

I just said, "God must not want me to ski from the Saddle to lower sand flats today and I was okay with this".

However, my friend was very attached to skiing down the several miles to Sand Flats and out the lower road with me.  But, it was not to be.

I had a great time walking back down Bunny Flats. I really enjoyed the pristine alpine beauty of it all even though I was covered with snow which was coming down a lot by then. But I had wrap around ski glasses on so it wasn't getting into my eyes at all so as long as my Sun glasses didn't fog up too much I was fine. In fact it took so long to walk down without skiing that he was at lower sand flats road entering into Everitte memorial highway almost before I started driving down there from the really full parking lot at Bunny flats.

One guy had a pickup truck but didn't know how to drive in snow and was in danger of sliding into another car. So, I told them he needed to just put his truck in neutral while a bunch of us pushed sideways on his hood so he didn't destroy the car when he applied any power at all to the rear drive wheels. This worked. Hopefully, someone with a two wheel drive without chains or a 4 wheel drive drove safely down once he realized we all were driving on a sheet of ice literally at that point.

I was in 4 wheel drive and know how to drive on solid ice even on a slope in my 4wd Tundra so we were okay. If you know how you can use the slipping a little when you try to turn around more quickly and easily. But, if you don't know what you are doing you wind up lodged in a snow bank or wrecking another car if you aren't experienced at doing this.

I was a little worried where I parked that I might get side swiped or lose an open door by someone less proficient in the snow coming down the road though. However, in the end everything turned out okay.
