Why? Because this is one of the definitions of Conservative:
"Not liking or accepting changes or new ideas"
If you don't like new ideas and if you don't accept new ideas then you can not deal with already manifested new Ideas.
So, Conservatives cannot solve Global Warming, Global Climate Changes or a Technological Singularity simply because:
They don't believe any of these things exist.
And so, in a sense they don't accept Apple Computer or Microsoft, or Google or Amazon either because they don't really believe they exist or if they do believe they exist they don't like them.
If you take the meaning of Conservative literally:
"Not liking or accepting changes or new ideas" literally as what Conservative means.
For example, if a new bus you have never seen before is coming at you down a road or a new drone with a hellfire missile is coming at you ready to fire a missile but you don't believe such things exist if you don't get out of the way are you still alive?
The answer to this is likely "No"
So, not liking or accepting changes or new ideas also gets people killed.
So, being traditional might be helpful sometimes but other times it just shortens your life and gets you killed.
So, if you can't be adaptable to what is actually going on in your life often you don't survive your life.
Because sometimes being traditional will only get you killed by life.
And this is just a completely pragmatic thought about all this.
