The GOP is fracturing or preparing for an outright Explosion at the GOP Convention and many U.S. Senators and Congressmen are not going to attend at all if Trump has the most Electoral Votes already.
It is likely that you may see more than one party fragment from the Republican party this year as a direct result.
You have Trump and his ally now Governor Christie who both have a somewhat "Mafia" style of communication which reminds me of "if you disagree with me I'll have you killed or your leg broken" kind of style.
So, you sort of expect Christie (if Trump becomes President) being made either Vice President or Secretary of State.
Can you imagine having to deal with Christie as Secretary of State of the U.S. if you are a representative of another country?
So, there is a slow moving explosion going on within the rank and file and representatives and Senators of the Republican Party right now.
Whatever the GOP (Republican party is) one year from now it will likely be forever gone (at least as we have known it to be in the past).
Why is this?
There simply are not enough white Republicans to win any Presidential election ever again. This is causing the demise of the grand old party.
What will take it's place?
That's really hard to say now.
Time will tell.
Could Trump Win?
There is a remote possibility this could happen simply because there has never been a female president before. So, there has never been a president like Trump before or a female president either.
Both in their own ways are presently at least anomalies.
And both likely are indicative of Globalization, Global Climate Change and a beginning Technological Singularity.
So, we are living through a year of complete anomalies in every direction for the U.S. and the world.
