You may wonder why periodically I write about Compassion. When I was growing up my parents were Mystical Christians. As I became a man I realized that this was a type of power path that often was judgemental of other groups besides whites. As I grew up I saw how many Christians in the 1950s and 1960s used their Christianity to think less of other groups than white people worldwide.
It likely wasn't very conscious and mostly engrained based mostly upon, "People who are like me I will help and people who aren't like me I won't help."
So, in my late 20s when I became more interested in Buddhism and Tibetan Buddhism I realized that this mystical Christian power path was really a "White Path" that only elevated White people all over the world for the most part.
Of course as I saw this I also realized this didn't help all other ethnic groups and races.
So, when I embarked upon a "Path of Compassion" through Buddhism it made more sense to me because this is the essence of both Buddha's and Jesus' teachings instead of power over other ethnic groups and races.
So, I saw this path of compassion as the most powerful path really of all because it didn't exclude anyone by accident or on purpose.
In fact, one of the statements within Tibetan Buddhism is:" Not one being left behind"
In this statement, for example, we are talking about no being being left behind in moving towards bliss and enlightenment. This would not only include all humans on earth and throughout the universe, it would also include all animals birds, fish, insects, plants, trees and everything else alive on earth or anywhere else.
As I have practiced this path in addition to Christianity I have found it incredibly powerful because all life wants bliss and all life wants enlightenment and all life wants it's suffering to end.
