In U.S.: Asian Population grew 3.4%: White population Grew .5%

This is one reason why White Republicans are freaking out. But, it's not just  that white birth rates are down, it's that almost as many white people are dying as are now being born in the U.S.

A similar thing is happening with Hispanic growth but this year Asians are growing faster than the hispanic populations. One reason for this is less people are coming illegally over the border from Mexico since around 2008 because of the Great Recession. So, this year more Asians are coming legally to America than Hispanics are coming illegally this year.

One reason this is happening is if rich Chinese want to invest in the U.S. in a home or a business above a certain value (I believe it is somewhere between 500,000 dollars to 750,000 dollars they can get a green card for themselves and sometimes for their families as well. This was instituted as a way to get our economy to recover faster during the Great Recession.

The statistics in the Title are from PBS newshour from KQED TV in California.

So, 1/2 percent population growth for white folks in population growth makes more sense when you think about just how expensive it is to raise kids today.

So, there are now 21 million Asians in the U.S. largely now due to legal international immigration.

Hispanic population reaches record 55 million, but growth has cooled

U.S. Hispanic Population is Growing More SlowlyThe U.S. Hispanic population has been a key driver of the country’s population growth since at least 2000. But the group’s growth has slowed in recent years, and that trend continued in 2014, as evidenced by new figures released early today by the U.S. Census Bureau.
The Hispanic population reached a new high of 55.4 million in 2014 (or 17.4% of the total U.S. population), an increase of 1.2 million (2.1%) from the year before. However, that 2.1% rate continues a trend of slower growth that began in 2010.
