The paradox of Kindness?

I was thinking today and tonight about Kindness and how kindness and compassion are much the same thing in humankind today here on earth.

But, I was also thinking how somethings at a micro level that would be kind or unkind are the opposite at a Macro level in dealing with all peoples worldwide.

In much of the world the following example might be difficult to take for one reason or another. But, here goes.

I'm using kindness around speaking about abortion because this is one of the most divisive issues besides religion going on around the world in the last century or so.

I grew up in the 1950s and 1960s when all abortions in the U.S. were illegal. However, many women had illegal abortions or (coathanger) abortions and many women died from whatever method they used from Ergot Poisoning or whatever.

So, from the point of view of people in the U.S. then abortions became legal for adults over a certain age partly because of all the deaths of women from rape and getting pregnant to illegal abortions, to all sorts of suicides and mayhem and all sorts of abuse of their children by women and girls forced by the law to have children they did not want or need because they were not even married or adults at the time.

But, even though abortions have been legal since the early 70s most people don't realize we likely would have double the population now in the U.S. if abortions were not allowed. In fact, if abortions were not legal in the U.S. and parts of Europe and in China and Japan I firmly believe that the human race would have already gone extinct by now through nuclear weapons and caused by a war caused directly by overpopulation manifesting in a nuclear war that ended life as we know it on earth or the end of planet itself in pieces out in space.

So, from this point of view abortion has been a kindness in that it prevented the complete extinction of all mankind by now wherever it was allowed.

However, other especially religious people around the world believe Abortion is Evil.

But, if it is evil then why does it prevent extinction on a macro level of humanity. Even if it is deemed evil it is the ONLY thing right now that prevents human extinction here on earth at present I believe.

For example, I believe War is evil but what if Abortion prevents horrific wars like World War II?

Also, Nuclear weapons are evil. I think all of you might agree with this.

But, what if I said Nuclear weapons prevent any more big wars like World War II that killed up t 100 million people worldwide mostly civilians?

So, in the context of preventing more world wars are nuclear weapons evil?

And in the context of preventing human extinction is abortion evil?

And likewise one of the reasons that I write about the Technological Singularity is that I feel if people don't know potentially what is coming then they are more likely to die from it when it hits. So, even sharing with you about ways the Technological Singularity is manifesting or could manifest may save some or all your lives.

So, every day I sit down to write here at my blog site I'm trying to think about how I can be kind to you and the human race?

So, I'm trying to figure out what is the best level of kindness that allows you and I to be sensible enough ongoing to survive and not just go extinct through ignorance both now and on into the future.

By God's Grace
