WarGames is a 1983 American Cold War science-fiction film written by Lawrence Lasker and Walter F. Parkes...I thought this movie is a really good example of a potential technological singularity. For example, if all the nukes had gone off during the movie all over the world that would have been the technological singularity. So, it is a good example of what a technological singularity could look like even though it would be different than that now if it happened and likely will happen likely in some completely unpredictable way between 2025 and 2050 or soon thereafter. However, you get the idea that a Technological Singularity is a completely unpredictable and uncontrollable event caused by technology that mankind (once it starts happening) has no control of whatsoever. So, just like in the movie if it isn't stopped before the full event occurs it is quite likely the human race would be gone after the peak event occurs.
