Writing for Effect

This is called Storytelling.

Storytelling is a talent many people developed before TVs and Radios were invented. My grandfather and his son my father were excellent story tellers and often were the center of attention in the family extended or nuclear in my life. So, naturally I developed this skill first through writing by age 9 and in speaking with people telling them the stories of experiences in my life. As I grew up I found that writing down things that I really did not intend to share with others (sort of like a Diary) was useful in understanding better all the changes in life I was going through. So, for example, something I wrote at age 5 or 8 or 9 I might have still kept and then reading it later as an older more evolved and experienced person I might laugh like one would sharing something with a younger sibling. However, I was an only child so the closest things to siblings for me were my cousins, one of which lived nearby from the time I was 8 to 12 years old when he went away to college because he was 5 years older.

So, I would call "Storytelling" speaking or writing for effect. You realize what would amaze and entertain people that often is true and you share it in a way that people are amazed by. And I find the essence of all this is and has always been:

"Truth is always much stranger than fiction". So, I find life actually is (if one is truthful) more strange than anything fiction you could ever make up. However, most people are afraid of looking at life in this way because life is so incredibly unpredictable. However, if you can see life for exactly what it really is and you can share that with humans around the world in a "Storytelling" fashion, you just might prevent wars, bring people closer together and allow humans here on earth to colonize space before we blow the whole earth out of existence with nuclear weapons.

So, storytelling is both an art and a science and helps keep us all alive and entertained enough to face another day.
