- Nondualism, also called non-duality, means "not two" or "one undivided without a second". It is a term and concept used to define various strands of religious and ...
- Existential nihilism is the belief that life has no intrinsic meaning or value. With respect to the universe, existential nihilism posits that a single human or even ...I think everyone is aware of what hope is so I didn't try to define it. Without hope we all give up and eventually self destruct one way or another. So, the path to hope is an important one.As a descendant of pioneers who settled America since 1725 starting in Philadelphia after sailing over from Switzerland through England, our motto has always been:"Prepare for the worst and hope for the best". So, that is where I started in thinking growing up.Then in my 20s I became introduced to compassion through Buddhism especially Tibetan Buddhism which suited my ways of thinking. This manifested eventually by about age 32 of starting to meet Tibetan Lamas, first in the U.S. in Ashland, Oregon and eventually in northern Oregon, San Francisco, Santa Cruz and India and Nepal. However, when I learned to go beyond dualism (Christianity and Islam are dualistic religions) to Non-dualism at first I felt liberated and then I found myself becoming nihilistic and I found this difficult to cope with. Though dualism is childish in how it is supposed to operate when you have ultimate good and bad somehow there is always hope even if it is also childish in thinking that way. But, when I traveled from Non-dualism through Nihilism to hope it was incredibly more powerful I found because it was efficient in every way.My path took me through nihilism which is a danger of non-dualism. But, maybe unless you hit nihilism you cannot get to the real powerful path of Hope and compassion? What a practice of non-dualism does if you follow through is to eventually take you to a place where you realize neither time nor space are actually real in any real way. From this place of realization you know absolutely that there is only one being in the universe and that only Being and non-being exist. From this point of view all life is you and you are all life. Understanding this you realize that your job is to help all life end it's suffering because all life in the universe is you. Understanding this you have hope and your hope comes from the fact that you realize you have the power to mobilize this to happen every moment of every day. And from this comes Joy eternally and grattitude because you realize you have the power to make it happen because you are at one with all life in the universe and that time and space don't really exist (at least in the way most people think). So, you realize there is no limit to the good you can do to help all life around you so you just get busy and help end suffering and help the bringing to bliss of all beings. And this brings great gratitude and joy always. Understanding you can help and constantly helping brings gratitude and peace ever after. So, the key to gratitude and peace and joy is first reaching hope as a form of enlightenment.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
