What causes homelessness?

PTSD from wars and just from growing up in dangerous areas with abusive parents or caregivers.

Or:
Mental and physical problems which prevent people from having regular jobs to support themselves or prevent them from starting or owning businesses.

For example, many people can attend high school or college classes but would be incapable of holding a job or starting a business. This then means that even if they get SSI they would only get about 1600 to 1900 a month and in big cities rent for almost anything is more than that. So, in order to eat and be able to buy food they have to find a tent and go live in a tent or live at a relative's for free.

For example, someone could get a bachelor's degree and a master's degree but then be unable to pay off their student loans by working because they would be unable to eat and pay rent for a room or apartment. So, in order to pay off student loans people could be homeless just trying to get ahead.

So, it's very easy even for people who have degrees and who are working to also be homeless at the same time if they have high student loan debt which means their payments to student loans are paid instead of paying for rent. So, you have people with master's degrees working some places where rents are high who cannot pay rent because of high student loan payments who might be homeless too.

So, the world we live in because of rising cost of living every day (which has increased considerably by the trade War now) is literally starving more and more people to death here in the U.S. or making their lives so miserable that they take their lives with opioids.

And you can multiply this problem by 10 to 100 times for countries around the world outside of the U.S.

Also, in the U.S. it is very common for people to be homeless in their car or van or motor home as well. When you get to the size of a motor home I'm not sure you are homeless so that would depend on many factors. But, if you are living in your car I think that is homeless unless it is Van size and then it is debatable.

But, this is very common here in the U.S. for people to live in their cars and be homeless in this way. And then there are people who don't have cars who live in tents who pitch their tents anywhere they can. And then there are people who live in cardboard boxes downtown in allies in big cities. However, if you don't have at least a car you can lock to stay safe inside of it can be very dangerous especially at night when you are sleeping to be homeless here in the U.S. depending upon where you are.

So, at this point many factors cause homelessness. However, most places if you are qualified you can get a job because unemployment is now about 4 percent (as of last January 2019) which means getting a job is pretty easy most places in the U.S.

The US unemployment rate rose to 4 percent in January 2019 from 3.9 percent in the previous month and slightly above market expectations of 3.9 percent.
