In Blood Rites, Ebenezar McCoy refers to him as a half mortal. Harry Dresden confuses him for his son, Vlad the Impaler, but McCoy asserts that Dracula was a pale comparison, and only became a Black Court vampire as a form of teenage rebellion against his father, Vlad Drakul. McCoy states Drakul himself is formidable, dangerous, and cruel, often referring to him as a "creature". He also states that Jared Kincaid was the servant of Drakul, known in that capaity as the Hound of Hell, or simply, the Hellhound.[1]
