After growing up in the 1950s to parents who were anti-Vaxxers and getting whooping cough and a concussion and believing from 10 to 15 that God was trying to kill me I'm not sure I would survive the world today either.
The most dangerous time for me was likely between 21 and 25 when I saw no reason at all to go on living.
I couldn't go on for myself because that made no sense to me at all.
What I found out about myself is that I could go on living for others just not myself alone.
So, watching one's kids die is not something anyone wants to do.
At first I stayed alive so my death wouldn't harm my parents and friends and relatives. Then I stayed alive to take care of my wife and children.
Unless you can get kids through the dangerous times of their lives they won't live to 30 and have a life.
My cousin says the scariest time to raise kids is to try to get 18 year olds to stay alive until they are 25 or 30.
I agree with this by the way.
Kids from about 5 to 12 I think are wonderful to be around if you can afford to financially, emotionally and mentally and spiritually support them to adulthood.
But, from about 13 onward it's pretty difficult, especially from 18 to 25 years of age in trying to keep your kids alive to see 30.
