It's true that "dimming" the sun will cool the earth because not as much sunlight will get to the ground as before: However

Just like in the 1790s in France when people died from Starvation caused by Solar Dimming caused by Iceland Volcanoes the common people in France revolted and executed the aristocracy, Solar Dimming if people find out about it could do the same kind of thing now all over the earth.

This is the real problem of Solar Dimming because some people will be helped by Global Dimming and others will be severely hurt or die because of Solar dimming. This is the reality here on earth.

Solar Dimming won't ever help everyone just some people in certain areas. But, the rest will be hurt or starve to death because of Solar Dimming. This is something to always think about regarding things like this.
