I think the U.S. will find a way to survive as a democracy

Because people in the U.S. are mostly thoughtful and reasonable in the end.

What was Churchill's statement about Americans: "They always make the right decision after trying everything else possible first."

That likely is an apt description of Americans and always was simply because the right decision is NEVER the easy decision.

So, Americans will always try all the easy answers first and when they find they don't work they will always choose the right answer because it is usually the hardest answer to face. But, they are capable of making that choice (EVENTUALLY) and always have in the past when absolutely necessary.

However, I don't have the same hope for China and many other countries around the world. I think it's likely that millions and millions will die around the world in the Chaos Spawned by Covid in Countries starting with China.

When you have a pyramid shaped leadership system it always kills the poorest half of the people in almost every country and gets the worst during pandemics and plagues and wars always.

So, expect the poorest 1/2 of China and much of the countries of the world to be dying by the millions during the next few years along with people in many other countries around the world.

IF you don't allow grassroots response to problems this is what always happens in nations around the world.

Will the world actually hear about all these deaths? Probably not. They will be covered up by the governments of the world in any way possible.

Right now there are two things killing Americans at a rate of 1700 a day now. Inflation caused by Covid which is causing people to quit their jobs early and to retire and this also causes Supply chain issues because those replacing those retiring because they don't want to die of Covid aren't properly training their replacements. So, the efficiency level drops as very experienced people retire so they don't die.

What would you choose? Would you chose to die or to retire?

It's pretty easy if you think about it and have enough money and retirement savings to retire.

So, inflation now is caused by early retirement  and supply chain issues caused by early retirement.

And who will suffer the most worldwide?

Likely the poorest half of all nations on earth who cannot afford inflation.

By the way people died in Kazakhstan because the price of gas doubled recently.

During the 1970s gas prices doubled here in the U.S. too. However, the doubling was over around 10 years time so people sort of had more time to get used to it.

However, during the Arab Oil embargo people who cut in line in gas stations might be hit with a tire iron which is usually used to change spare tires on cars.

begin quote:

During the 1973 Arab-Israeli War, Arab members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) imposed an embargo against the United States in retaliation for the U.S. decision to re-supply the Israeli military and to gain leverage in the post-war peace negotiations.
