Tsunami is pulling some boats in harbors off their moorings in California and water is coming onshore too

I was watching local news and it isn't as bad as the damage from the 2011 tsunami from the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami that killed about 30,000 people there. However, the real danger from something like this is boats and smaller ships breaking loose from their moorings and people who don't understand tsunamis getting too close to the ocean and being swept away on currents coming onshore.

With a Tsunami the whole ocean level rises so it isn't just the waves you are dealing with the whole sea level rises one or two feet which often causes water to come onto shore. But, when it goes back out in various cycles it might take less aware people with it who don't understand how tsunamis actually work. So, it isn't the waves alone it is the surges that come far onto shore or break boats loose from their moorings because of swift changes in water levels breaking ropes that are holding boats in place on their moorings.

But, it isn't that serious because it isn't tearing up ocean boardwalks at least yet because something like this causes all sorts of weird currents all over the Pacific ocean sort of like the waves you would make jumping into your bathtub. The Pacific Ocean is like a bathtub and the volcano just set off currents all over the place that could continue for hours or days depending upon what they do.
