It's not just here in the U.S. that people are dying of the heat.

Just in the county that includes Phoenix, at least 130 homeless people were among the 339 individuals who died from heat-associated causes in 2021.
“If 130 homeless people were dying in any other way it would be considered a mass casualty event,” said Kristie L. Ebi, a professor of global health at the University of Washington.
It’s a problem that stretches across the United States, and now, with rising global temperatures, heat is no longer a danger just in places like Phoenix.
another quote same source:
This spring, an extreme heat wave gripped much of Pakistan and India, where homelessness is widespread due to discrimination and insufficient housing. The high in Jacobabad, Pakistan near the border with India hit 122 degrees Fahrenheit (50 Celsius) in May.
end quote.
So, as you can see, the hundreds of people dying here in the U.S. from the heat this summer likely is dwarfed by the thousands of people dying this summer worldwide from the heat, from flooding in places like Bangladesh, and even in New Delhi the temperature has reached well over 120 degrees Fahrenheit recently too. All these events kill thousands of people around the world who are usually poorer without air conditioners when the temperatures get bad. Flooding is another cause of death usually by drowning or cholera one of the two or from hypothermia which causes hallucinations if someone gets too cold in the water that is flooding them. IF you are hallucinating because you get too cold and lose too much heat you can no longer be rational and make good enough decisions to survive.
