Yesterday Port Townsend, Washington: Today Portland, Oregon

We were staying yesterday morning at a hotel about a few blocks away from the Ferry that comes over from north of Seattle. However, we came across on the Bainbridge Ferry to there from Seattle because it was nearer to the Marriott Waterfront hotel where we were staying with a view of Seattle Harbor there and the new Ferris Wheel. It might not be new because I think we haven't been to Seattle for at least 8 years now since our daughter went to Cornish College then. She is now in Europe with her sister and her husband vacationing.

The friends we traveled with got exposed to Omicron likely in Yakima Washington and one of them tested positive and went back home to Mt. Shasta to recover. Both of them seem to be doing well now. However, we were not exposed because they left Lake Louise at least 4 days ago so we haven't seen them since then. However, we traveled from Jackson, Wyoming to Glacier National Park and met them there at East Glacier Park Village and then eventually traveled to Banff and then met them in Lake Louise (which is the turquoise colored lake. The Alpine lakes that are turquoise in Canada are that color because of glaciers slowly grinding down the rocks into the alpine lakes over thousands of years by the way.

Today it is supposed to be 93 degrees Fahrenheit in Portland Oregon. It was about 90 degrees yesterday when we arrived. Up until now on our trip it has ben around a high of 60 to 73 more of our trip since around Jackson, Wyoming with some rain and a little snow at times too. So, now we are beginning to experience the heat most of the rest of the nation has for some time now.

Tomorrow here in Portland, Oregon it is supposed to be 99 degrees which is pretty hot for Portland any time of year.

It's really nice to have air conditioning in our car and hotel room the next two days with it 93 today and 99 here in Portland, Oregon tomorrow.
