Mark Hamill has revealed the most valuable Star Wars prop that he kept from his time filming the blockbuster franchise. Hamill starred in his iconic role of Luke Skywalker for the first time in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope in 1975 and has gone on to reprise the role in four other Star Wars films since. Star Wars currently holds the title of the second-largest film franchise of all time, only falling behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It's no secret that actors often keep mementos from films that they've worked on, and the cast of Star Wars is no exception. From Adam Driver (Kylo Ren) keeping his iconic helmet and lightsaber, to Diego Luna (Cassian Andor) making a deal with Rogue One's prop master to take home a few credits, the Star Wars cast has been sneakily collecting props from sets since the very first film. Hamill has had the opportunity to sneak away with props for literal decades, and it seems he didn't pass on the opportunity.

In a post on Twitter, Hamill has revealed that the most valuable thing he kept from the Star Wars films was the boots Luke Skywalker wore in A New Hope. The tweet was in response to Hamill lamenting that he should have kept his X-Wing Fighter Model after one used in the 1975 film recently sold for $2.3 million at auction, and fans began speculating on what Hamill did end up keeping. However, Hamill says that he doesn't know the value of the boots and doesn't care to, as he has no intentions of ever selling them. Check out Hamill's post below:

Authentic film props often fetch high prices at auctions, but Star Wars props frequently sell for significantly higher than most. In 2017, Luke Skywalker's lightsaber used in A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back went up for auction at $250,000. In 2018, Han Solo's blaster from Return of the Jedi sold for $550,000. The most expensive Star Wars prop to ever be purchased at auction, however, was an original R2-D2 prop used in several different Star Wars films that sold for $2.76 million.

While it's likely that Hamill has collected many keepsakes from his time on Star Wars, his boots from the first film seem to hold a special place in his heart. Luke's boots from A New Hope are part of the iconic and instantly recognizable look of Luke Skywalker, and if past auctions are any indication, they would likely be worth six to seven figures at auction. However, if Star Wars fans are hoping to add the famous boots to their personal collection, they're going to be sorely disappointed, as Hamill seems firm on never parting with his most valuable prop.
