Squaw Valley Resort was named that around 1960 for the Winter Olympics there

 If you have been skiing at Squaw Valley between 1960 and 2021 like me you know it as Squaw Valley Resort but in 2021 they changed the name to Palisades Tahoe because some people didn't like the Squaw Valley name.
