Most members of my family have read 3 to 4 books in the Dune Series (some of them have read more). I highly recommend it for a variety of reasons mostly because Frank Herbert is very accurate and detailed and amazing the way he writes. So, it is easy to "move into" the world of Dune and Frank Herbert who I think lived in Carmel Valley, here in California up nearer to Santa Cruz and San Francisco.
