It feels like Assad has already left and it's a done deal with his army scattering to the winds maybe to other countries if they can afford to do that so they aren't all executed along with their families. This reminds me a lot of Afghanistan. The rebels are supported by Turkey by the way and Russia is having military difficulties obviously so they aren't helping Assad much so it looks like Russia is going to lose it's only warm water port that doesn't freeze in the agreement Putin has with Assad now. What will it mean when the rebels win? Turkey will be happy and Iran will be sad.
This is likely mostly what it will mean. However, it might not be good for the Kurds either who helped Americans in Iraq and Syria in the past. It also might mean American Soldiers in Northern Syria might need to leave that area where they are working with the Kurds to maintain stability in that area. Even Iran wouldn't be happy likely with that as things get worse for Iran because of all this. Assad was aligned with Iran and Russia by the way so this is a big deal for Iran and Russia to lose the Assad Government in Syria.
