The amount of regulations for tall buildings in California mean there aren't many of them built now all over the state because people don't want them tumbling down in a 7.0 earthquake or higher.
So, as we drove through town to get to Mozart's on the river there in a nice area where you can rent things like Donut boats that seat it looks like 10 or 12 people we got some non-alcoholic drinks at Mozart and then sat outside at a table looking out over the river with all the other tourists from all over the world.

Also, it's further from Houston to El Paso Texas than it is from El Paso to Los Angeles!
Texas is a very big state!
