Unless you take into consideration Autonomous weapons (or potentially autonomous weapons) that will do "literally" what ever they are told to do with cold precise calculations of death then you are living basically in World war II kinds of thinking now in 2025.
The change many people have not adapted to worldwide is that NO SOLDIERS OF ANY KIND NEED TO DIE ANYMORE if a country is wealthy enough to just keep hitting another country or area with drones, missiles and cruise missiles ongoing in a never ending onslaught of just killing civilians somewhere on earth. You don't even need to hit any military targets at all just genocide all the humans in an area until they are all gone just like in Ukraine and how Israel has targeted Gaza for completely genocide now and how Iran was genocided (even though Iran is too big a country for this to work unless only one place like Tehran was burned to the ground with incendiary bombs or missiles or drones from Israel.
So, people need to find ways to deal with countries like Russia and Israel genociding whole groups of people.
This is the reality worldwide we are now dealing with where armies might not be involved at all or only marginally and instead the civilians are targeted until that whole area becomes dysfunctional and collapses from a lack of funds or food or everyday things to survive.
So, in some ways it is like laying siege to a castle in the old days where people (the civilians were completely starved out and had to surrender sometimes only to all die often in a genocide.
This is happening to Kyiv right now and has already happened to Gaza where thousands not already killed are now starving to death right now here on earth.
This is the future of warfare on earth as of right now potentially without any boots on the ground at all.
