Everitt Memorial Highway is open all the way to the Old Ski Bowl and Panther Meadows

I think it opened (the gate) at Bunny Flat at 6900 feet around there sometime the month of July but it wasn't open the 4th of July all the way up to the 7th of July when I was last here.

So, since I hadn't been up that far on Mt. Shasta for at least a year or more my wife and I took a drive up there to the end of the pavement where the Old Ski bowl was until around 1975 when a bad avalanche destroyed the ski lift and lodge then which came down from at least 10,000 feet or more to wipe out everything then.

So, when we got up there I took pictures and my wife did too because everything is so beautiful because that high up it is still springtime in the higher altitudes of Mt. Shasta and the Purple Lupine and Indian Paintbrush flowers were in full bloom everywhere along with many other things.

Also, in lower panther Meadows there is still water flowing through there if you know where to go as well. Panther Spring starts up closer to the Old Ski Bowl and then the spring goes through mostly meadows all the way down to where Panther Meadows Campground is pretty much. You just have to know where to look for the spring going by which is on a trail to Grey Butte if you stayed on that trail far enough that is where you would wind up.
