“I think religion will be in trouble if we create other beings?

I think the title that I quoted from the following link article isn't true at least for me. Possibly more simple minded people it could be true.

However, for my own personal experience of the Cosmology, people who experience the reality of UFOs also experience the reality of AI and Robots. If you are already comfortable with all these things (as comfortable as living around Grizzly Bears, Mountain Lions and all that I think people who can cope with all these things will be all right.

However, it's also possible that people who haven't been allowed to think for themselves and never had an original thought in their whole lives because their consciousness has been enslaved by one person or group or another, might freak out and have problems. I think about 50% of the people on earth will be just fine regarding Robots and AI and the rest might not and might freak out at first.

However, Necessity is the mother of invention for most people.

 begin partial quote from:

How Silicon Valley is using religious language to talk about AI

From predicting the potential destruction of humanity to a transhumanist apocalypse where people merge with AI, here’s what some of the key players are saying.

___

“I think religion will be in trouble if we create other beings. Once we start creating beings that can think for themselves and do things for themselves, maybe even have bodies if they’re robots, we may start realizing we’re less special than we thought. And the idea that we’re very special and we were made in the image of God, that idea may go out the window.”

— Nobel Prize winner Geoffrey Hinton, often dubbed the “Godfather of AI” for his pioneering work on deep learning and neural networks.
