Vance is against these types of laws simply because it will mean AI companies will have to redesign their software in some ways to comply even though U.S. laws haven't caught up fully to the reality of AI problems yet and might never.
So, the UK right now is championing children and mentally challenged people from being harmed or dying or worse from the way things are set up now in the U.S. regarding AI.
Also, the law says that penalties for abuse of this law can cause an INternational company to lose 10% of their worldwide Gross in a fine by the UK Government.
I personally think this law is a good one for most people. Of course AI companies are going to complain because they don't REALLY care how many people die or are harmed by their products because they are only in to the money AI might make them.
